Why it exists
Generating the work is the easy part now.
What decides whether it ships is everything around the generation. Whether the right context was gathered. Whether the rules were followed. Whether anyone can tell afterwards. BMad is the process an agent runs inside, so the output arrives with the evidence attached.
A process, not a prompt
Workflows for framing the work, gathering the context it depends on, making the decision and then checking it. The shape a competent professional already follows, written down and executed rather than hoped for.
Adapted to the rules you already have
Teams layer their own conventions over the shipped defaults, committed beside the code, so a policy or regulatory constraint is present when the choice is made.
A gate that can say no
One adversarial question before implementation: could someone build this without inventing decisions that nothing records? Gaps get named and located, so a thin plan fails here, where it costs a conversation, rather than in review.
A record that outlives the run
Decisions, constraints and traceability in both directions, versioned in your own repository. Nothing is stored anywhere else, because there is nowhere else.
What it is
A philosophy first. The framework carries it.
A folder of prompts is not a method. BMad takes a position on how the work should be done, and the workflows exist to make that position operational. There is no magic pill in it. The expertise stays yours, the method is what lets it hold at the scale an agent can now produce.
